Often known as ‘O’ Licenses, Operator Licences give you the legal authority to operate goods vehicles in Great Britain.
Operator Licences
There are different types of 'O' Licence. We have the expertise and know-how to make sure you apply for the correct licence.
£3,100 for first vehicle
£1,700 for additional vehicles.
For commercial transport of own goods only, within the boundaries of the UK.

Somewhere either owned/leased of permission has been granted to park.
Financial Standing
At least 3 months accounts demonstrating sufficient founds to maintain the fleet.

A Statutory Notice
This must be advertised inviting objections to the operating centre. The wording of the notice can be found and is detailed on the GV79 form, but it must be advertised in a newspaper that is in free circulation in the same area of the operating centre.

Requirements
Which vehicles need an operator’s licence?
Types of vehicle configuration which would need an operator’s licence, if being used to transport goods in the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland for the purpose of hire and reward. Vans with a MAM of over 2.5t up to 3.5t. Vans or cars towing a trailer with a gross train weight (GTW) of over 2.5t up to 3.5t
Financial Standing
Financial standing – you’ll need to submit bank statements with your application to show that your business has the appropriate level of financial standing. This currently stands at £1,600 for the first vehicle and then £800 for any additional vehicles.

If you are utilising a 'mixed size' fleet for hire or reward (vehicles with a MAM less than 3.5t and vehicles greater than 3.5t) This must be advertised inviting objections to the operating centre. The wording of the notice can be found and is detailed on the GV79 form, but it must be advertised in a newspaper that is in free circulation in the same area of the operating centre. But if your fleet is solely made up of vehicles with a MAM of less than 3.5t there is no need to apply for an operating centre.
